Gavin Thomas is from New Zealand.
He has been an ESL teacher in Japan since 1993, focusing on the IELTS, TOEIC, and TOEFL exams for university students. He has taught all English components; writing, pronunciation, speaking, reading, and listening for all levels.
He has a 5th-degree blackbelt in Aikido and is a leader in the Japan Scout movement.
Gavin was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often called Lou Gehrig's disease) in 2017.
He is currently Okayama Chapter President of the ASL Association and producing content to share his knowledge about teaching and life.
